About:
Emily Denise is a representational artist and teacher based in Tarrytown, NY. She creates works from life in oil and pencil, with a focus on naturalism and careful observation.
Emily’s love of art has been life long. Having a mother who was an artist, her creative pursuits were always encouraged and supported from early childhood. In high school she studied with artist Athena He at Studio A Gallery, where she fell in love with working from live models, and was introduced to oil painting. From there she completed a four year intensive drawing and painting program at Grand Central Atelier, where she honed her observational figurative drawing and painting skills. Through GCA she met artist Camie Salaz, and in 2019 they cofounded Main Street Atelier. She now has her own studio in Tarrytown located at 1 Central Ave Suite 302, Tarrytown, NY 10591.
She has shown her work at Eleventh Street Gallery in NYC and Collins Galleries in Cape Cod.
